Ninfoniel is an Odd Affinity Support with multiple playstyles. She’s able to function as one of the best burst damage buffers available or slow things down and fill the role of a buffer/sustain hybrid thanks to her healing and shielding.

Skill 1

Ninfoniel’s S1 is a simple single-target attack with a moderate chance to apply [RES+] to herself for 1-2 turns. This is more of a filler skill for Ninfoniel, its main draw being the ability to better resist Hard CCs or Turn manipulation effects that would prevent her from using her other, much more impactful techniques in longer fights.

Skill 2

Her S2 is similar to Valerian’s own Health Equalizing ability, except that in Ninfoniel’s case, a powerful Healing effect is also applied to the whole team based on each Animus’ Max HP, after first averaging the HP of your party. Coupled with the Shield S3 provides, a well geared Ninfoniel can act as an effective sustain in most regular fights.

Skill 3

While the S1 might be unremarkable and the S2 is just solid, Ninfoniel’s S3 is nothing short of ridiculously good for its intended purpose. With a single use of the ability, Ninfoniel applies all of the following effects to the entire team:

  • 1 turn [Immunity] buff that prevents any disruption Bosses and slower Debuffers would use to hinder your gameplan;

  • 2 turn [ATK+], an abundantly available buff but still always serviceable for ATK-based Damage Dealers;

  • The unique [Rimebloom] effect for 2 turns, which functions as a powerful [Shield] and a unique [ATK] buff that doesn’t conflict with the regular version of the buff, allowing a much higher damage ceiling through buff stacking.

And if all these effects were not strong enough in this state, the main target of the skill receives all of those buffs with their duration automatically extended by 1 turn.

The main downsides of this ability, much like Ninfoniel’s previous skill, are its longer CD of 4-5 turns, pushing her towards Burst compositions or cooldown-reducing matrices and shells. Another caveat is that [Rimebloom] and its unique ATK buff are also lost at the same time as the Shield is destroyed, so the Buff may not last long in difficult encounters.

PVE

In PVE, Ninfoniel earns her spot as one of the best burst damage buffers in the game thanks to her colossal 80% increased ATK boost. With such a potent kit, though, Ninfoniel is also fully capable of operating outside the burst niche thanks to her sustain and protection capabilities acting as a pseudo healer while providing the always useful immunity buff, which when stacked with buff extensions and or additional layers of debuff protection/cleansing can and will trivialize many of endgames more challenging encounters.

PVP

In PVP, Ninfoniel can lean into either her sustain or buffing capabilities excellently. On the buffing side, Ninfoniel slots nicely into cleave compositions, elevating their maximum burst damage significantly thanks to her new unique ATK buff. In more defensive tanky setups, Ninfoniel provides shielding, healing, life equalizing, immunity, and her usual offensive buffs, forming one of the most loaded kits so far.

With that said, Ninfoniel isn’t without her downsides; her SPD, while solid, isn’t top tier, meaning she’ll certainly be able to be beaten by the fastest characters in the meta. Also, as an ATK% buffer, Ninfoniel has little to offer outside of survivability to the current top-tier bruisers, who all scale off of either HP or DEF.

Conclusion

Ninfoniel has strong stakes in both PVP and PVE thanks to her incredibly stacked kit containing both sustain and buffing. This, in addition to the fact she’s not as lattice hungry as some other characters, makes her a solid pick up and build target you’ll likely appreciate on your account moving forward.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Incredible burst support.

  • Overloaded S3 with unique AoE ATK buff, Shield, and Immunity.

  • Rare 2-turn Immunity for your main DPS.

  • S2’s teamwide Healing is massive.

  • Low skill level requirements for nuking.

Cons

  • Longer CDs unless S2 and S3 are fully leveled up.

  • S3’s unique ATK buff wears off if the Shield is destroyed.

  • S1 is underwhelming.

Best Builds (Generic)

1

Before the owner acts, unleashes the owner Animus' full potential making their next skill cost no CD and increasing their SPD by an additional 10% for 2 turn(s). In PvP modes, after being affected by Codex of Magic, skills that did not go on cooldown will have their maximum cooldown permanently increased by 1 turn. (a single skill can only be affected once by this increase).

The cooldown of the skill can't be reduced.

An absurdly strong combo Shell that allows the wearer to skip the cooldown of the ability used on the turn this Shell is active. The wearer can use their ultimate or skill twice back to back, unlocking usually impossible personal and team combos. Also grants the wearer a 10% SPD boost after use for 2 turns. Mainly used in PvE burst/combo compositions or PVP. Can be used on both Supports and DPS situationally.

Using Ninfoniel's S3 twice in a row grants tremendous shields but more importantly grants two shots at her full 80% ATK boost, allowing you to recover maximum buffs even after enemies remove it the first time. Ideal for optimized burst damage compositions.

After the main body's turn, a Follow-up Attack on the main target dealing 240%+4200 damage, applies [SPD+] for 3 turns to the main Animus, applies and increases their Turn Meter by 25%.

Widely used and incredibly potent all-around supportive option, granting a 25% gauge boost on use as well as [SPD+] boost with 100% uptime. It also deals decent damage when used. Possesses most of the best supportive matrixes, further adding to its flexibility and wide use cases. Loses most of its value when used in teams that already have a team member granting the [SPD+] buff with good uptime.

A proactive alternative to Codex of Magic more suitable for longer, drawn out fights.

3

For every 3 actions accumulated by enemy units, increases the owner's Turn Meter by 35%, and can be triggered up to 1 times per turn.

Grants the wearer a 35% gauge boost for every 3 enemy actions that occur, once per turn. A solid choice for Supports in content that sees multiple enemies acting per one turn of the wearer. Loses value against singular enemies or enemies that move slowly or not at all (due to control effects).

A more reactive alternative to Codex of Magic which relies on enemies being fast or numerous enough to equal or outperform Jackal.
