Basic Team Composition
The game allows you to use up to 5 characters in a team. Each character has a unique formation bonus and class archetype, adding strategic complexity despite the auto-battler nature.
There is no single team composition effective for every stage, but a basic setup includes at least a Healer, Tank, and DPS. As stages increase in difficulty/ vary in content, you may need to adjust your composition — such as using more healers with fewer DPS, or employing more DPS without a tank, or going no Healers in some cases.
Basic Team Mechanics
Up to 5 Characters can be positioned on a 6-slot grid, each row - Front, Center, and Rear - allowing up to 2 characters to be placed. By default, Position 1 (marked on the photo below) will be the most Forward position followed by Positions 2, 3, 4, etc in that order.

Each Character has a preferred position, and on matching that grid typing will be conferred the following bonuses:
- Front Row +20% Defense
- Center Row +20% Attack
- Rear Row +20% Attack
However, you may also slot characters outside of their preferred slot. This comes into play with how targeting works for most enemies.
Enemy targeting

Enemy targeting usually works off 2 factors:

Innate Positioning > Grid Position.
Grid position: Most enemies will default to attacking the closest available targets. Assuming everyone is matching their position, targeting priority using goes from Position 1 to 6 in order. In the above example, the enemy will attack the 2 positions closest to the front. There are certain enemies that will attack all targets, and some enemies that will actively target the backrow, so be sure to read up on your enemies’ targeting if you get stuck in a level.

In the above example, Galahad would be the first target to be hit, followed by Lancelot and Erin in that order.
Character innate positioning: Regardless of where you put your units, most of them would have a default attack range and will run up if they are not in that range. For example, you can put your melee Knight character in the Rear row and they will still run up to the front, taking damage for the team if there are no other knights within the enemy’s attack target.

DISCLAIMER: IMAGE IS USED FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES. DO NOT ACTUALLY FOLLOW THIS POSITIONING.
In this above example, despite Galahad being in the backrow, she will run forward in combat and therefore be within the first 2 targets to be hit alongside Lancelot.
On the other hand, most ranged characters and healers have similar ATK/ Heal ranges, and are much more flexible in their positioning. Despite Erin being a Back position character, she can easily be slotted in front of her other ranged party members, taking incoming hits in their place with her high HP stat. Isabel, with her hit immunity, is also a great option for a similar role.
Auto Ultimate priority
Ultimate priority during auto play usually follows the following order - Whichever skill becomes active first, followed by right to left in that order. This is a much smaller factor to take into consideration for your team building, and is mainly used for optimising higher leveled Stonehenge Boss fights, where your ultimate skills might finish each fight more quickly.
Basic Team Archetypes
While teams can vary according to content, we have identified several party archetypes. Teams typically comprise 1 or more of these archetypes mashed together.

Aside from Cristina’s ATK passive, her Passive 2 also grants 24% Additional Damage to all Fire allies against Burned Targets. As of now, Kay is the most commonly used target, but
Rooted (Nature core)
One of the most commonly used Raid comps from Launch, Tristan’s massive root uptime, especially paired with Lua’s card, allows Vivian to deal big burst damage with her Active Skill and Ultimate.

The most popular DPS combo from Launch, Lua’s high shock time enables Ran and her pet to fire off big damage with their Active Skills and Ultimate. Ran also brings Crit Resistance Shred and DEF shred to the party.
