Tier list

Last updated: 14.04.2024

The Identities are actually decently balanced and you can make a lot of them work - this Tier List tries to show the outliers that either offer something more (or less).

  • Ratings take into account potential team synergies and take into rating ONLY BASE E.G.O.
  • E.G.O. synergies are mentioned in reviews and do not affect placement on the tier list,
  • Ratings are based on Tier 4 Identities. If any ID requires Uptie 4 to function, please check their tags in the tier list or check out our “Uptie 4 Priority” Guide,
  • Identities within a tier are placed in alphabetical order.

Tier List Criteria
  • Damage Dealer: Group that ranks IDs that focus purely on doing damage. Even if they have any semblance of any status effect, supportive buff or debuffs, those are usually secondary additions in the kit, rather than the main focus,
  • Status Specialist: Group focused on IDs whose main focus is status effect support, making them stronger, easier stacking or utilising them more effectively,
  • Tank / Support: Group focused on IDs whose main purpose is to redirect damage for the team, take hits and IDs who support the team with various buffs / effects or debuff enemies rather than damage or status effects.

Some IDs could fall naturally into both categories, like Damage Dealer or Tank / Support. While rating those IDs we will consider what is the main focus of such IDs.

NOTE: We also added tags below each character to facilitate understanding their niche and help with team building. If you want to know more about each character, please check their page for full information and review.

  • SS - Best in their respective category. Offers more than Identities in tiers below or an unique / core part of the kit makes them stand out.
  • S - Extremely viable in all the content. Has some minor caveats that hold them from reaching SS, like worse clashing, status application etc.
  • A - Still good and viable in all content, although has a good number of issues or their drawbacks hold them down.
  • B - Viable in certain scenarios, have certain niches that are not good, require more investment to make them work.
  • C - Situational at best.
  • D - Detrimental, passive providers only or completely overshadowed by other Identities. Can work in certain scenarios, but usually there are better options

14.04.2024
  • Middle Don moved to B tier - Middle Don's main gimmick is too problematic to actually be useful in a fight and envy resonance is not as potent as pride.
  • Rosespanner Rodion moved to B tier - She doesn't deal very much damage and her S2 is pretty annoying to proc as you'd need to use her S1 first or you must gain charge by other means.
  • Cinq Don moved to B tier - Cinq Don's main gimmick is too niche and lacks so much damage that she's not worth using, her clashes while okay are not enough to varant her spot in the tier she currently is.
  • Zwei Gregor moved to A tier - Now that we have more tanks in the game, he's fallen off in comparison.
  • Middle Little Brother Meursault moved to B tier - Simply just doesn't offer much useful and envy resonance is not very potent.
  • LCCB Ishmael moved down to S tier - While Ishmael is still the best Tremor and Rupture applicator, her damage and her clashes are subpar.
  • Liu Hong Lu moved down to A tier - Long time coming. Now with more better Liu Identities in the game, he and Liu Gregor and prime candidates to be benched for their passives
  • R Meursault moved down to A tier - Bleed is still in awkward spot alongside R Meursault who is looking more and more as an odd choice for a bleed team.
  • Move 7 Outis to A tier - Nobody really use 7 Outis like that for support anymore. Weakness Analyzed isn't all that useful anymore with all other damage amp sources being better in some way.
  • Move 7 Yi Sang to A tier - Buffs and debuffs that he applies aren't that noticeable in the long run anymore.
  • Kurokumo Hong Lu - We considered moving Kurokumo Hong Lu down a tier however he is still being used for quick Luxcavation runs and speed runs of Mirror Dungeon to farm it efficiently. And his damage even at 0 sanity can be decent.
  • Zwei Faust to B tier - Is only useful to on field if you have Zwei Gregor on field.
  • W Faust to B tier - Buffs/Debuffs aren't that good even with sufficient charge gain.
  • W Meursault to B tier - While his debuffs can be potent, it is a hussle to set them up in the long run.
  • W Hong Lu to B tier - Helps to spread charge to allies who need it and offers them a bit of tankiness, but outside of that, does not offer much.
  • Molar Yi Sang moved to A tier - Only inflicts Tremor count when we already have a lot of it.
  • Pirate Gregor moved to A tier - Outside of Mirror Dungeon, setting up Pirate Gregor can be tricky and requires luck to not crit before big S3 hit and in comparison to other S Tier IDs who are easier to use, Pirate Gregor can't be compared.
  • Shi Ishmael moved to A tier - Upon meeting her -50% HP conditional, she becomes a really good ID and deals pretty great damage. Her S2 is also really monsterous. The only downside is that her clashing capability is really questionable.
  • Shi Don moved to C tier - No matter how you slice it, Shi Don is not good. Her S3 is the only good clasher in her kit while the other 2 skills are average at best.
  • Dieci Hong Lu moved to S tier - Dieci Hong Lu damage is amazing especially when you lock his Insight on 3 which makes him way better. And this "Discard Tech" after learning how to do, will pay off.
  • Blade Lineage Sinclair moved to B tier - While does not deserve C anymore due to Blade Lineage team as a whole being good, he is still on the weaker end of Blade Lineage team.
  • Der Outis moved to S tier - Her Dark Flame application takes way too long to ramp up. Most of the time the fight is almost over before it can truly shine.
  • Cinq Outis moved to A tier - Her S3 is not that good and evade on non focused encounters aren't too viabel.
  • Liu Ishmael moved to S tier - Consistently high damage and good clashing is easily sustained in a burn team.
  • Liu Rodion moved to S tier - Same reason as Liu Ishmael.
  • LCB Outis moved down to B - While Outis is still the best LCB (Base) Identity, she can't compare anymore to other A tier identities
  • Cinq Sinclair moved to SS - Very potent clashes and damage and helps tremendously in fights where starting SP is 0. On top of that he has easy access to setting up 2 Fragile on enemy before other allies can attack, boosting team's whole damage. While not 4 as R Heathcliff, it is still great utility to have, especially in long fights.

  • [Lobotomy E.G.O::Magic Bullet] Outis - SS Status Enabler - Her own damage is already high but her overall power and performance skyrockets in a burn team. Please refer to the review of why she is that strong
  • [Lobotomy E.G.O::Lantern] Don Quixote - S Tank - Lantern Don is focued on two gimmicks, tanking and rupture. She works nicely in those two roles but her value goes up when she can take hits, redirect attacks and heal back. Aggro + Rupture is a great combo for Focused Encounters but struggles in non focused ones
  • [Twinhook Pirates First Mate] Gregor - A Tier -> S Tier - While Gregor outside of Mirror Dungeon might not have consistency to hit his Skill 3 Highs, when he hits, it hurts. We putting him in S as his performance is higher than other A tier characters.
  • [Kurokumo Clan Wakashu] Hong Lu - B Tier - A Tier - Cloud Cutter still remains strong and KK Hong Lu ability to use it as full power in content like Luxcavation or very short battles puts in A tier
  • [R Corp. 4th Pack Rhino] Meursault - SS Tier - S Tier - While his count application is strong, we are still lacking proper potency application that would put him trully in SS tier where his count would matter.
