Aurora Boss Guide

Aurora is the final Threshold boss, presenting a formidable challenge that tests your team's efficiency and strategic planning. Her mechanics revolve around stacking debuffs and escalating AoE damage, making prolonged battles increasingly perilous. Success hinges on managing her unique mechanics, particularly the Accumulated Anger and Wrath systems, while maintaining a swift and controlled offense.
Aurora Overview
- Boss Name: Aurora.
- Element: Reason.
- Challenge Type: Threshold Final Boss.
- Difficulty Tiers: Normal → Hard → Nightmare → Hell → Inferno.
- Key Threats: Stacking AoE damage, debuffs ([Wild Proclamation], [Curse Shield]), Accumulated Anger/Wrath mechanics.
- Recommended Strategy: Consistent damage and healing.
- Turn Meter Resist: The boss reduces the effectiveness of Turn Meter decrease used on him. It's 30% reduction pre-inferno and 70% when you reach Inferno. This makes using Marvell/Mio and other turn pushers not as effective anymore.
- Anti-Dot and Control: The boss is immune to DoT and Control effects.
- Hollow Units Vulnerable: On Inferno the boss deals 200% bonus damage to Hollow affinity units - using them will most likely result in failure. Before the Inferno difficulty the bonus damage is lower.
Skills Overview
Aurora's abilities can catch you off guard if you’re not prepared. Here’s a detailed breakdown of her abilities and how to counter them.
Dangling Foliage
Deals 600% AoE damage and has an 80% chance to apply [Wild Proclamation] (3 turns). Converts all current [Accumulated Anger] on Aurora into [Wrath] and adds 20 more stacks of [Accumulated Anger]. Additionally, applies [Curse Shield] equal to 25% of the target’s Max HP, hindering healing effects.
- [Wild Proclamation]: When the turn starts, takes damage equal to 450% of Aurora's ATK. This effect does not stack.
- [Accumulated Anger]: Loses 1 stack upon taking damage, but if the attacker has [Wild Proclamation], the reduction chance decreases to 25%. This effect can't be dispelled.
- [Wrath]: Upon reaching 15 stacks, Aurora immediately uses Lingering Grudge to counterattack. This effect can't be dispelled.
- [Curse Shield]: Absorbs an equal amount of healing and reduces damage dealt by the affected unit by 90%.
How to counter?
- Multi-Hit: Focus on reducing [Accumulated Anger] stacks before they convert into [Wrath].
- Healing Awareness: Since [Curse Shield] limits healing, bring support that can delay damage (like Shields) rather than just relying on heals.
- Cleanse Debuffs: Cleanse [Wild Proclamation] ASAP - letting it linger is a one way ticket to a team wipe.
Pristine Crystal
Deals 350% AoE damage to your team. If any target has a debuff, damage is increased to 450%.
How to counter?
- Immunity Buffs: Use characters that provide immunity before this triggers to prevent debuff application.
- Debuff Cleansing: Cleanse any harmful effects quickly to avoid taking the enhanced version of this attack.
Lingering Grudge
Deals massive 700% AoE damage. Every time this skill is used, its damage increases by 140%.
How to counter?
- Prevent Wrath: Keep [Wrath] stacks down by targeting [Accumulated Anger] early and often.
- Kill Fast: The longer the fight goes, the more brutal this skill becomes. High speed damage is essential.
Place in Death
When there are 5 enemy Animus(es) alive, Aurora faces them in her normal state. For each 1 enemy unit(s) defeated, Aurora becomes more berserk, enhancing damage by 100%.
How to counter?
- Avoid Ally’s Dying: Healing, managing her other mechanics, shielding, will prevent the death of your units!
Aurora - Best Characters
In this section we will showcase the characters you can bring to deal with the boss - focusing more on ease of clearing the boss (rather than doing it super fast) and also to use as many SR characters as possible.
- Main DPS (Pick 1/2):
- Rosa - great damage dealer that also can delay Aurora with her basic (and when you unlock Aurora, she already should work well),
- Diting the hardest hitting SR character who can one-shot the boss even at Inferno level (but it requires a team build for that). His Mark is a bit annoying on auto, so you need to build the team around that,
- Massiah - a Light DPS who can work against any boss due to how universal his kit is.
- Other viable options (but weaker than the ones above):
- Required Sustain (Pick 1):
- Lingluo - she's the best Healer to use against Aurora as she can provide Immunity buff to allies, cleanse debuffs and heal a lot. Other healers will struggle here, especially in Hell and Inferno. Thankfully, Lingluo is free for everyone (you will get her from 7-day starter event). Before you unlock her, you can useValerian orSania instead, but they struggle to remove the Cursed Shield effectively (and Sania will get one shot at higher difficulties),
- Required Dispeller (Pick 1):
- Heinrich - a Dark DPS/Debuffer hybrid who also provides you with dispel source (to get rid of Immunity),
- Turandot - if you're not using Heinrich, Turandot will act as the dispeller for you. She also provides the team with DEF+ and ATK+ buffs. Just keep in mind on auto, she will use her S3 first, but dispel is tied to S2 - so you start the battle manually and then switch to auto after using S2,
- Yang - a dispeller that is very similar to Gray, as in you stack Crit Rate on him to trigger both Dispel and Turn Meter boost for all allies. On top of that, he also provides ATK+ and CRIT Rate+ buffs,
- Obol - another alternative for the dispel slot. He's also great in PVP. Just keep in mind on auto, he will use his S3 first, but dispel is tied to S2 - so you start the battle manually and then switch to auto after using S2.
- Viper - a good option for the dispel, but he's only used on Aurora and in PVP.
- Best Supports (Pick 1/2):
- Beyontin - a Support who provides ATK+ and CRIT DMG+ to all allies and can also 100% turn meter push one ally and reduce their cooldown. Also can revive fallen allies.
- Lily - a top-tier buffer who provides SPD+ to all allies and additional buffs to one marked ally (the main carry),
- Dinah - a top-tier debuffer that amplifies the damage dealt to enemies. She can not only inflict DEF- and DMG Taken debuffs on them, but also inflict a unique debuff that causes them to receive additional True Damage,
- DokiDoki - another great Support options who provides buffs and turn meter boost - also works as a cleanser,
- Tsukiyo Mi - another great buffer that provides ATK+ and SPD+ buffs to the whole party and can 100% turn meter push one ally.
Aurora Best Teams (F2P)
If you don't have some of the characters visible in the teams, you can replace them with another one that fulfills the same role (check the section above).
The teams for the section are targeted for the highest difficulty - Inferno - but obviously they will also work in the lowers ones. For the F2P teams, we tried to use as many SR character as possible and limit the SSR characters to free ones/one random one.
Aurora Best Teams (Overall)
If you don't have some of the characters visible in the teams, you can replace them with another one that fulfills the same role (check the section above).
The teams for the section are targeted for the highest difficulty - Inferno - but obviously they will also work in the lowers one. Those aren't the only teams that work against the boss - only the ones we found to be optimal ones without overloading the team with Light/Dark characters.
